Not sure if this counts as a bug of sorts or not - if it does is it possible to move it to the appropriate section please?

The problem is this: I did the above quest, it is showing as (completed) in my log, but before talking to Jerob No-Spine in the Marga Coast to receive the reward, I decided to pop back into an outpost to switch heroes, so that my least experienced could benefit from the XP.

On going back in to the Marga Coast Jerob is no longer there. When I have the quest active in my log, the Marga Coast is highlighted in green on the map as the quest location, but as Jerob is not appearing obviously I can't talk to him to get the reward, and as the quest is completed I don't have the option to abandon it and start again.

According to Guildwiki, Jerob only appears during certain quests, of which this is the last, so my question is, is there any way to claim the reward for this quest under these circumstances or am I going to be stuck with it?

I think I did the same thing on that quest with one of my characters, I never did find a way to go back, although I didn't try to go with someone else that had the quest...maybe that would work?

most likely you'll have to abandon it and do it again.

most of the quests that you have to meet someone in a zone get reset if you zone out.

I can't abandon it - it's marked as (completed) and the 'abandon' button is greyed out. Zoning out and back in doesn't help, nor does logging out and in again.

The problem is that Jerob only appears during quests, if you leave the zone after the quest is completed but before accepting the reward he doesn't reappear again, which seemingly make it impossible to receive the reward. That is why I wondered if this could actually be considered a bug.

Thanks Melei, that sounds like it might work, I'll put a shout out to my guildmates and see if anyone still has that quest to do.

Bring the requisite hero?

You need Margrid for it, try bringer her along and see if it works

I only changed one hero, and it wasn't Margrid. Good suggestion, but no joy there I'm afraid. I think Melei Hawke's idea looks like the best chance for a solution. At least it's the last of Margrid's quests, and it's not blocking access to the rest of the story... I think I'd go mad if that happened. :P

You can only abandon quests in outposts and towns. If you can't do that with this one, then there's definitely something seriously wrong

try finding another player who hasnt done the quest yet. party with that player, and work through the quest. At the end the npc should be there as the other player has done all that is required. you may be able to collect your reward from him at the same time

You CAN abandon a quest even though it's completed, but as with all quests only in an outpost/town.
